Indian American Cultural Center | Merrillville, Indiana | Uplighting

The Indian American Cultural Center in Merrillville, Indiana can be a colorful banquet hall to host your next event with uplighting. The very modernized location with wi-fi, overhead projectors, and dimmable lighting creates a great atmosphere.

One of my favorite parts about the venue, other than the lighting, is the stage. The stage provides a place for people to perform, dance, a separate room inside the room, or a location for a head table. It has entrances on both sides and the curtains are motorized.

The overhead projectors are a nice addition ensuring proper sizing of the slide show and proper placement of the screen for your guests viewing pleasure. Your guests will appreciate wi-fi for their phones and iPad apps and the disc jockey will really appreciate the wi-fi so they can download last-minute song requests.

Chandeliers, ceiling lighting, and plenty of windows allow the proper amount of natural and artificial light to be used during the event. The lighting is on dimmers so moments can be created or lights can be changed without notice. Add in some colorful uplighting like the picture below and wow your guests. The 3 large chandeliers are great centerpieces to the room and provide plenty of luminance.

The decor of the place isn’t neutral at all. The drapery and valances around the stage, the stage curtains, and around the windows is all red or maroon. That’s great if it matches your event or it is really dark inside, but can cause a total color clash if not covered or taken out of focus.

The location is pretty large and can host about 350 guests. There is also a patio area outdoors that could be used for watching fireworks or hosting a wedding ceremony. A bride’s room and a groom’s room are also nice additions.
